I'm 19 nearly 20. If i don't get between 8 and 9 hours sleep a night, i wake up feeling groggy, just generally not great, maybe a headache or something, just not alert. I'm perfectly healthy etc, no diabetes, good zinc levels etc, i'm completely healthy, i rarely get ill. Is it okay to have that much sleep? Most (well every) article i've ever read says that about 7 or 8 hours is maximal. I wish i didn't need so much sleep like others. If i go out and miss on some sleep, i'll have to sleep like 10-12 hours to catch up and feel great again. Is this unhealthy? Most people only need 7 or 8 hours but some people need 9 or 10 hours. More than 10 hours is too much. That's fine but maye during the day you should eat some chocolate or something so you don't go to bed exhausted! If you go to bed tired your body will take more time renewing your energy other than resting.Yes, Well Because your body goes threw 4 stages while you sleep and if you sleep to much you'll wake up on and off never reaching stage 4 which may cause you to be even sleepier than when you started. And also you need to be moving and gain sunlight. Hope that helped. No, I was like this too when I was 19-20. If you can sleep this much then why not? Its whatever your body is used to that will make you feel good and energized. I now only get like 7-8 hrs or less a night with my 9 month old waking me up every morning, and now i m just used to it. If you dont want to sleep that long, then you must train your body. After a while you will not feel "groggy" anymore waking up sooner. I advice that you should go ahead and get all the sleep you want, that is, if you ever want kids! Cause its history after that. well i think depends on every person , Im ok with sleeping 5 to 6 hours but when i just get 5 to 6 hours of sleep i get a lot of pimples . If i sleep 7 yo 8 hours that i dont really need them my face looks as smooth as a baby face :)wait till you have to work 12 hr shifts then try to juggle your daily life in. Have fun now while you can still get 8-9 hrs of sleep. I can't remember the last time I didn't feel groggy waking upyou should get at least 8 hours of sleep per night, 9 hours is ok, but ur burning daylight hours!I had the same problem in my younger years. Don't worry it will slowly go away once you have a regular job that has you up at 6 every morning.im the exact same way, and i'm almost 21.
i hope it's ok, lol!
i'm pretty sure it's fine :)the articles you're referring to state 7 or 8 hours on average, not max
so don't stress about it, you need 9 hours of sleep, my friend needs 4 hours, i need 9000 hours!
everybody is different and have different requirements
you might want to look into the quality of sleep you getting thou
of course it's normal! i'm just your age and i have to get 9 hrs of sleep to feel refreshed all the time. everyone has different sleep needs, for instance my friends can run on 3 hrs of sleep while i can't. you'll know when you're not sleeping enough bc lack of sleep can impair your judgement, reaction time, concentration, and your health esp your immunity!
so make sure you get enough of your beauty sleep! and stay refreshed!I used to be like that when I was your age too. Now I am 27 and only sleep about 6-7 hours a night. You need less sleep as you get older. catching up on missed hours of sleep is unhealthy. As for the 9 hours thats not bad 9 hours is healthy for people under 25#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
