Hard Drive Brand

  • Hi Guys,
    I want to buy new 80GB, 7200rpm hard drive for my PC (the normal IDE...and not SATA, as my mobo do not support it). Can you tell me good brand among Western Digital, Maxtor and Seagate? I was about to buy Western Digital Caviar, but was told by somebody that WDs are not quiet enogh......Seagate are the quietest among all. Please suggest me the best brand I can purchase.

  • You can safely buy the seagate one...the price for 80gb 7200 rpm model is 2900 and it is with 5 years warranty...a 1 year or 3 year warranty drive may be 100 bucks cheaper


  • or why don`t u go for sumsung or maxtor both r good(even better then seagate) but a bit costly.
