how can I find the used fonts in fla-file

January 6th, 2009
  • Hi friends,

I have a fla file. When I opened it with macromedia flash player 8 it opens with the default fonts which I have on my pc.

How can I find the font names from this fla file?

    thanks

  • When you open the fla in Flash 8 you should get a box that asks 'Choose substitute' and 'Use default' font(s).

Click on the 'Choose substitute' option and the missing font names will all be listed :thumb:

I didnt choose "choose substitue". I had choosen another. I open fla-file again but doesnt ask it. How can I turn back ?

  • Go to to Edit/preferences then in the left hand list, click on 'Warnings'. Make sure 'Warn on missin fonts' is checked, close Flash and double click on your fla and you should see the warning back again with the two options I mentioned.

PS And don't check the 'Don't warn me again' box!

  • If you select the type on the stage, it will tell you what the original font is in brackets in the inspector

  • thanks for your help friends ;)
